Isabel Pérez Palerm Sobre mí

About me

Getting to know me better.

I am Isabel Pérez, I live in Ibiza (Spain) and I started my professional career as a freelance translator five years ago. I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpreting with a major in Publishing Translation at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 2016. The languages I studied were English, as the main foreign language, and Japanese. Afterward, in 2017, I took a Master’s Degree in Editing/Publishing at the same university. Since then, I have continued my education by taking courses in revision and other related fields to keep up to date with the industry and improve as a professional.

The languages I mainly work with are English, German, Spanish, and Catalan, being the last two my native languages. During my career, I have worked on a large number of different projects, providing my services both to agencies and direct clients from different countries, especially from the United States. My fields of expertise are editorial, corporate, and educational texts and courses.

I am also a professional member of Asetrad, the Spanish Association of Translators, Proofreaders, and Interpreters.

Each document is different and there are many factors involved when creating a quote. Broadly speaking, translators estimate the costs based on the type of service requested by the client, source and target language of the translation, complexity of the text, format of the text and urgency of the assignment.

Generally, translations are charged on the basis of the number of words in the original text, whereas proofreading is usually charged per the hours spent on the task. In any case, do not worry, I will provide all the information in the quote and I will try to answer any questions you may have before starting the assignment.
